5.7.1928: Launched by Cook, Welton & Gemmell Ltd, Beverley (Y.No.498) for Letten Bros Ltd, Grimsby as EMBASSY.

26.12.1929: Picked up crew of Norwegian motor vessel JUNIOR which had foundered in the North Sea 40 miles off Rattray Head (24.12.1929).
27.12.1929: Landed survivors at Peterhead.
1932: Sold to E. Cyril Grant, Grimsby.
8.1933: Registered at Grimsby as WIGMORE (GY469).
10.1935: Sold to The Clan Steam Fishing Co (Grimsby) Ltd, Grimsby (E. Cyril Grant, manager).
10.11.1939: Assisted LADY STANLEY (FD125) ashore at Swilke Point, Stroma. After refloating took in tow and after checks proceeded in company for Grimsby.
18.11.1939: In convoy for the Icelandic grounds (Sk Walter Bore) in company with SARPEDON (GY984) Convoy Officer, Lieut Reginald H. W. Jackson RNVR, ANDANES (GY923), SARONTA (GY1082), CONISBORO (GY244) and MURMANSK (GY26). 25 miles N by W of Rattray Head in approximate position 58°01.2N/01°57.5W attacked by U-boat (U.22) and sunk by torpedo; all sixteen crew lost*.
6.3.1940: Grimsby registry closed.
