18.12.1948: Launched by Cook, Welton & Gemmell Ltd, Beverley (Yd.No.803) for J. Marr & Son Ltd, Fleetwood as SWANELLA.
3.1949: Registered at Hull (H42).
24.3.1949: Completed at a cost of £102,794 (Geoffrey Edwards Marr, Hull, manager).
10.12.1951: Homeward from White Sea grounds (Sk.Leo Romyn DSC). Off Flamborough Head came across Dutch motor coaster WESTKUST (499grt/1951) abandoned with lights burning crew having been taken off by Scarborough lifeboat when in NW gale her coal cargo, loaded at Bo’ness for Hamburg, had shifted giving a 35° list and there was a danger of capsize. Four crew put onboard, connected and after ten hours under tow, delivered Humber. A Salvage Award of £17,000 was made to the trawler and her owners, the crew receiving one third; Sk. Romyn £1,700, Mate £1,200 and crew members £140 each.
3.3.1952: Sold to Firth Steam Trawling Co Ltd, Hull for £145,000. T. Hamling & Co Ltd, managers.
6.3.1952: Sailed Hull for Icelandic grounds (Sk.John Dobson).
29.3.1952: At Hull landed 2,220 kits, £6,503.17.0d gross.
29.3.1952: Registered at Hull as St. AMANT (H42). Harold Watson Hall designated manager.
1953: Made five trips to Greenland fishery.
9.8.1963: Michael Jonathan Watson Hall designated manager.
9.11.1966: In fog, shortly after leaving the fish dock for the fishing grounds (Sk. Maurice Edward Spurgeon), in collision with BTBD dredger SKITTER NESS (1577grt/1964) and holed in starboard fuel tank. No injuries and returned to St. Andrew’s Dock to be prepared for docking and repair.
13.11.1966: With fuel barge alongside and as fuel was pumped out from port tank, lost stability and capsized onto the barge which had a crew of two men. The watchman, steam raiser and three oilmen onboard managed to get off unhurt as did the barge crew. Three fish dock tugs, AURORA (56grt/1963), TRITON (57grt/1964) and ZEPHYR (57grt/1964) and a lorry with winch equipment arrived on the scene. With the aid of the fire brigade after 3 hours of pumping, winching and the aid of the tugs, the trawler was righted from her 45 degree list. Subsequently drydocked, repaired and returned to sea. The SKITTER NESS was also drydocked for examination.
3.2.1973: Sailed Hull for Icelandic grounds on last trip (Sk. Hugh Lafferty).
26.2.1973: At Hull landed 892 kits, £9,017.59p gross. Laid up for disposal.
27.4.1973: Sold to Humber Metal Exports Ltd, Hull (Albert Draper & Son Ltd, Hull) for £11,250 “as is as lies laid up in St. Andrew’s Dock”. 2.9.1973: Arrived Victoria Dock Slipway for breaking up.
1.11.1973: Hull registry closed.
